Lighthouse Projects, Activities, Books & Videos for Kids

There are lots of fun project and activities that can be used to help educate children about lighthouses. Lighthouse models can be built out of all types of materials and drawing lighthouses make great art activities.  Books and videos are also great tools for entertaining kids while teaching them about lighthouses.


National Archives Lighthouse Coloring Book

The National Archives has put together a coloring book based on architectural drawings of lighthouses found in Record Group 26. What a great way to engage kids (of any age) with lighthouses!

The downloadable PDF is available here. The Archives is encouraging folks to share their creations on Twitter by using the hashtag #ColorOurCollections and tagging @usnatarchives.
